I own a storefront in a Don Mills plaza — what’s different about commercial camera installs versus a house?

Mainly the equipment. Plaza and retail units typically need a PoE switch and NVR recorder to run several cameras reliably, where a house usually runs on a couple of WiFi units or a smaller PoE setup.

My condo is in Bayview Village — can I mount a camera on the building’s exterior wall?

Not without property management approval. Anything mounted on a shared exterior wall or common area needs to go through the building, so we typically stick to in-suite or balcony-facing cameras unless that approval’s in place.

Do you install PoE security cameras or only traditional CCTV?

We install both. For PoE (Power over Ethernet) IP camera systems we size and wire the PoE switch or injectors correctly, and for traditional CCTV/DVR setups we run the coax and power cabling needed for each camera.

Can you add cameras to a system that already exists?

Yes, we regularly extend existing camera systems, adding cameras to spare NVR or DVR channels, or upgrading the PoE switch if the existing one doesn’t have capacity for more cameras.

Do you run new wiring if my property has none?

This is usually a power issue: a PoE switch undersized for the number of cameras connected, or a DVR/NVR sharing a circuit that can’t supply a stable load. We size the power supply correctly for your camera count.

Do you install the NVR or DVR recorder as well as the cameras?

Yes, we install and wire the recorder, connect and test every camera feed, and confirm the system is accessible on your network or app before we finish.
